Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental— After issuing a marching order to streamline the operations of PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority, Administrator and CEO Jose Gabriel “Pompee” La Viña cited the initial gains of the Mindanao Container Terminal following the resumption of the port of call of a foreign shipping line.
M/V Teera Bhum, a foreign cargo vessel operated by Regional Container Lines (RCL) is back and will be calling at the port of MCT tentatively on December 7, 2020.
RCL had been paying port calls at the MCT since 2008 but it ceased operations in 2014 due to intense competition with other international shipping lines.
“This new development in transshipment of goods and services translate to an increase in port traffic, improve business activity and create more job opportunities in the locality placing MCT in a strategic position as a major port of call in the country,” La Viña said.
